Really Cool Time-Lapse Video of the Polar Vortex Moving Over Lake Michigan

Matt Foley from CNN shot this time-lapse video over Lake Michigan as the polar vortex moved through the region, bringing temperatures as low as -16º F in nearby Chicago.

The polar vortex was a result of cold air pushing the Jet Stream (which carries warm air across the United States) further south than normal, causing this cold air to park itself in one spot and rotate, powered in part by the Jet Stream below it.
