In the waters off of Mexico’s Guadalupe Island lives a breathtakingly massive great white. Deep Blue, as she’s known, is a 20+ foot shark that is regarded by many as the largest great white ever captured on film.
The shark made its public debut during a special on the Discovery network last year. The clip that aired showed researcher Mauricio Hoyos Padilla attempting to tag the massive shark, which is thought to be about 50 years old.
Earlier this week, Padilla shared a previously unreleased clip from that tagging effort on his Facebook page.
In the video, Deep Blue swims up to a cage full of divers, giving you a great idea of just how massive she is. Check it out:
