For those of you who shop on Amazon somewhat regularly — which seems like everyone nowadays — making one minor adjustment could benefit those in need and give you a feeling of gratification.
And no, the adjustment I’m asking you to make is not for you to donate your money to charity instead of purchasing that awesomely priced item in your shopping cart. What I’m suggesting is that you continue to shop on Amazon like you would normally, except instead of shopping and purchasing through Amazon.com, you purchase through Smile.Amazon.com.
According to Amazon…
“AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service.”
The only difference is that 0.5% of the price of your purchases are donated by Amazon to the charitable organization of your choice, at no cost to you. That’s right, Amazon makes the donation, not you.
All you have to do is visit AmazonSmile, pick a charity from a selection of nearly a million, and start shopping. It’s that easy. The shopping experience is also complete with Amazon Prime features, like special shipping options for members.
As of now, a few digital products like kindle books, video content and mp3s, are not yet available on AmazonSmile. But shoppers have the privilege of browsing “tens of millions” of other items with the comfort of knowing a portion of any money they decide to spend will go towards a cause they support.
